Welcome Baby

Just another baby card to get your day started right:

I love this houndstooth stamp from CHF. It is delightful in just about ANY color. Go ahead.... try it yourself and see! I added some glitter to my stars, although I should say I added some stars to my twine and buttons, since as of late I always have those two things on EVERY card. I just love it. Don't you? Here is a shot of the inside:
Isn't that darn cute? (um... that photo is C.L.O.S.E. up isn't it!?! Sheesh!)
Ok. That's all for today. Must go now and I really hope you are having a great day!

365 Cards Sketchy Sunday!

My goodness, how time flies!! Only one more week of summer for us and well, as our friend Vicky said last week, only 4 more months until Christmas! Because fall is my favorite time of year, I welcome it with open arms, and only a bit of dread for the crazy snow that follows. But until then, I will enjoy the changing of the landscape around me, the nice crisp breezes that flow through my screen door and the soft comfort of a nice sweater. Aahh... fall, how I adore you. And to further celebrate my favorite time of year (that really hasn't begun yet*sigh*), I have today, a fall card to share. But first, here is today's sketch:
And my card:
I think these are some of my favorite colors. Gold, Brown, Dark Chocolate, Red, Orange. Such comfort they bring! I am SO excited because my Papertrey Ink package showed up in the mail last week. It was such a wonderful treat because I was having a really horrible day and it just brightened everything up! I have 7 stamp sets to open. I think I am going to milk it for all its worth and open a new set every month or maybe 2  month, then I can really enjoy them. So for my first set I opened Autumn Abundance. Which is a very elegant set. I also used the PTI Autumn Abundance pattern paper, which is just a delight to use. As a final touch I used some Gold glimmer mist over the entire thing. Gives it a nice shimmer.

Ok thats all for today. Going to spend some time with the fam and I will see you tomorrow!
Cheers~

Plentiful

Here's a quick card I made quite a while ago. Its a little celebration of the fall season that is coming our way:

I used some chalk and Versamark for the image and added glitter everywhere I could. Now that I look at it again, (it's been months!) I think I must have been crazy.... or bored. Why would I need that much glitter??? Seriously!

Oh boy, I really can't wait until fall. It is now my favorite time of year. It is gorgeous here and I love going to the pumpkin patches, taking hay rides, getting apple cider donuts and fresh pies.... and the list goes on and on! So, ok. Enough of that. It's going to make me crazy thinking about it and not being able to do anything yet! How is your weekend so far? Hope its going swimmingly. I hope to see you again tomorrow for 365 Cards Sketchy Sunday!

thanks for stopping by!

2S4Y: Laura Sketch #33

It has been a good crafting week for me. I have been able to participate in a few challenges and got some submissions in, so all in all I am feeling good. To end this week, I thought I would share my card for Laura's sketch this week at 2S4Y.:

Here is what I came up with:
Since I wanted and Asian flair, I decided to use some clean straight lines with the added floral in the background. Not sure if it worked, but when I was putting it together I really liked it!
I love this button so much. I slid the ribbon through the front and back and instead of tying a know, just glued it down and added an adhesive gem. Pretty simple today.

I wonder... what do you have going on for yourself this weekend?? Only two weekends left until Ronin goes to school. And boy am I feeling the clock tick! He is so so excited. I hope he's not painfully disappointed when it finally arrives. What a glorious thing to grow up! Anyway. Not sure what our plans are but I hope to have a good time and I hope the same for you!

Be sure to check back for a card tomorrow and of course for 365 Cards Sketchy Sunday! See you then!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #15

Oh Hello!  It's a Thursday and I am actually making the deadline in time for the Raspberry Suite Challenge this week (something I haven't done in MONTHS)! Here are the colors:
Lots of fun if you ask me.... Did you ask me? Ok. Here's what I came up with:
The idea to make a tag card came to me in the shower. I am sure it has been done before, but for some reason it was a brilliant idea when I was washing my feet. ; ) I used Floral Fusion for my stamp set of choice. Also I used Guidelines and Borders and Corners: Square for my background stamping. The mat for the flower image is in fact Spring Moss. It just doesn't look like it. Here is what it looks like from the side:
You can see it opens just like a card, I just cut the corners off of the top. I did a little "book binding" technique for the fold. And added a button and twine! I put some glitter in the center of the flowers to give it a little oomph, and thats all!

Hope you have a glorious day. Thanks for stopping by!

365 Cards: Checkerboard Background

Happy Wednesday everyone! Todays challenge is all about checkerboard. You are to use it for your background. Well I decided to make a weave pattern for mine. I picked out some double sided pattern paper by Scenic Route. Something that was fun and dramatically different on each side. I cut my card to standard size and then cut the strips shorter by 1/4". Then wove them together. This is the checkerboard that came out:

I got this hairbrained idea about adding buttons and twine. (I am officially addicted to twine!) It took some time, but I hole punched two little notches at the top and bottom of each checkerboard row. I cut my twine to wrap twice around and then threaded it with my buttons. I attached the buttons in their spots with glue dots and then tied the twine. It really gives this card some dimension, which I would show you if I hadn't misplaced the other photo I took ; )

I added a sentiment and some trim and called it done! What do you think?  I hope you can tell what is happening on it. The photos is less than stellar.

Anyway. Today has already started with a bang and I am late with my post, but I did get it up which makes me happy! I hope you have a good day and feel inspired!!

Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop!

Hey there! Tonight I get to participate in the Blog Hop with Papertrey Ink. It has been a loooong while since I have, so I am excited to get hopping!

This months hop is all about fall and the things that inspire it. Color, texture, images... you name it! Well, I didn't get my PTI package yet, so I dug out last years fall set of my choice. First Fruits. I LOVE this set! Here is what I did:

I had some gold fabric that I was using to make pillow covers this last week. This is the side I cut off that shows the salvage (*thats the right term right??) anyway. Thats why you see it frayed at the top with the orange stitching. It's where its weaved together. I stamped on it with the leave image from First fruits, added some velvet ric rac (which I LOVE!) and then (of course) used a button. I like how the melon berry button matches my orange stitches in the fabric! I love love love fall because of the rich colors. That was my first inspiration, but getting dressed in jackets, blazers and sweaters is the other thing I love about fall, which is why I added the fabric to this card.

Thanks for stopping by tonight. Can't wait to see what everyone else creates. If you haven't participated or seen a PTI blog hop, you just gotta stop by. Some really creative people come out each month. It's a real treat to behold. Head on over to the FORUM now and get started hopping!

365 Cards: Sketchy Sunday Aug 23~

It's Sunday again and you know what that means, right?? Sketch time, 365 Style!
Here is today's sketch. Another great one from Pam:
And here is what I chose to do today:
I wanted to get a jump on first day of school gifts. This is a card for teacher. I want to make up a little goodie bag to go with it, but then I wondered... will the teacher think we are kiss-ups??? I definitely don't want to cause any problems for my DS. So I thought I would ask you what your opinion is. Have you ever given first of the year gifts to your kids teachers? And if so, what was/is it? Or do you think its going overboard a bit? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear your thoughts on the matter. Until then, here is a little close up of the cards tag:
I used a jewelry jump ring to add my hanging apple. Really easy to do and gives you a fun detail. I figure if I decide not to give this to teacher, it will still work ok for my DS who might need a little love in his lunchbox on the first day of school. Ok, so that's it everyone. Get hoppin' and craft up your own sketchy card!
Have a good one~

Happy First Birthday!

Happy Saturday my friends. I am actually taking today off, but found this little card sitting in my file folder unposted. It's a card I made with the scraps from THIS card on monday.  I thought I would share it so you didn't stop by here for nothing, cause you know... I love ya! ; )

I actually like how this one turned out more than the first one I did. Love the buttons of course, but these papers are so fun to play with. I highly recommend them. I hope to send this off to a little boy I may know that is turning one soon!

Welp, Patrick is here so we are a full family again (blessed day!) and we are working in the yard and on the house today. I really feel like the whole place is going under, so hopefully we can get a good amount of work do so we feel productive!!

What are you working on today?? I would love to hear from you! I will be back tomorrow with my Sketchy Sunday card for 365 Cards. I have some submissions I want to work on this next week, so my online presence may be scarce. I hope to do my best and see you soon!

In Bloom

Good Morning!  Every so often my card making gets messy. Today's card is no exception. This baby has layers of ink and stuff on it. Some things I was trying new, other things were added to cover up things that didn't work out. All in all, I am surprised this baby is still standing. Here she is:

Layered cardstock, scored lines, background stamping, paper piecing, sponging. Lots going on. But you know these beautifully designed flowers from the Papertrey Ink set In Bloom some how make it better:
That and a little Gelly Roll pen action. Ok. so it's friday finally! And really this week could not have ended sooner. Its so nice to have DH home and I look forward to a weekend of time as a family and FINALLY time to myself. DH is really good at that kid watchin' stuff. Also, I hope to finish the second book of a series I started this summer. I am really sucked in. Check it out if you haven't already, cause they are really good. Although I have had some killer dreams (cowboy and indian stuff) and I keep talking like I am from the Arizona Territories in the turn of the century. Stuff like "I reckon" and "out yonder" keep coming out of my mouth. My kids are extremely confused.  Only one more book to go...

Thanks for paying me a visit today! Have a wonderful weekend!

Hey There Chickadee

Hello All! I spent the better part of last night watching a movie. I really thought I could craft and watch. Turns out I am crap at multi-tasking. I did make one card during the movie and it turns out that was crap too so you will not be seeing it ; ) When the movie finally ended. This is the little ditty I cooked up for you instead:

aaahh. much better than the one before, although I would argue my Mojo is still out to lunch. My husband who is an artistic type says if you don't have anything coming out, there isn't enough inspiration going in. So in light of that wisdom I am going to spend the weekend searching out some inspiration to see if I can't coax my dear "M" to come home for a bit. Cause really, I got creative stuff to do!!

I made this card using that sweet and intensely cute set Everyday Button Bits from Papertrey Ink. I just loved digging through my buttons.

Tonight my DH gets home!! It means quite a few things. 1. My DH will be home! 2. The fast computer will be home too! This slow one is k..i..l..l..i..n..g me. (yes, I added in MORE periods so you could feel the pain too) and 3. the house will need to be cleaned from top to bottom. We kinda let the whole thing go to pot when he left. So today will be busy, plus we really want to squeeze in time at the pool so this could get interesting ; )

Hope your day is as fabulous as you are!
thanks for visiting~

365 Cards: Alpha Stickers Challenge & 2S4Y #33

Good Morning to you all this fine wednesday! Today's 365 Card challenge was a doosey for me. You must use alpha stickers on your card and include at least one number! Woah! Here is what I came up with:

My DS's birthday is coming up. Yup, he is going to be 5. So in honor of him, I made this card. His favorite color is orange, and the best color to go with that is blue, hence my color choices. Now this card made me realize that my mojo has left the building. So just like any card makin' gal might do, I searched online for a sketch. I chose this weeks 2S4Y sketch which you can find it HERE.

Even with the sketch this blasted card took me 2 hours to complete. I searched high and low for the right supplies. Every where I thought they would be, they weren't. I dropped my black inkpad in my lap and then it tumbled to the floor... (ooh is DH gonna be upset!) And the complaints go on and on! (I am definitely prego!)

Ok. Details: You can see I stamped and embossed the number 5 as my background paper and then I cut up some Scenic Route paper which gave me stars. I also did not have any alpha stickers that would really work and almost NO numbers. I found these Basic Grey alphas that I got in the April Mac Mae Card Kit but they weren't the right color for me so I sponged them black. That was about the only ah-ha moment I had all night. The rest of the time I spent grumbling! Ok. So enough about that. Today is supposed to be humid humid humid (uh... 95%!) so I think we are going to take it easy. Yesterday we may have over extended ourselves which might explained the drained mojo. Hopefully today we will be playing, reading and relaxing. Hope the kids don't mind!

Ok. Off you go! I hope your creativity is in full swing so you can participate in today's challenge! I look forward to checking them out!

Background Stamping

Here is a card I made for the Paper Crafts Stamping Royalty Contest. I think I did it back in February or something. I don't quite remember. And I can't find out anything about the contest online. I assume its over by now so I think it's safe to post:
I stamped my flowers alternating the colors on the white paper. I measured every 1 1/2 inches or so and used my hole punch to punch notches in the edges. This is what holds my string on.
I strung the twine around it and glued it to the back. Then using a craft knife I cute my 'picture frame' and adhered it with pop dots. I think the rest is self explanatory.

I loved making this card. I think part of it was that I really thought through and patiently executed the process. I wanted the craftmanship to be really good and patience isn't one of my strong points. Plus it was an idea that was different than anything I had done. It made me feel good to do it! And now you know, I wonder where the thing is... must still be out at the PC office? Hmmm. I wonder.

Anyway. Sorry to share an old card with you, but my hubby left last night for the week and you know I couldn't spend the last moments of our time together crafting, now could I? I will have three nights all alone to craft up a storm so there will be new things to see this week. Plus, don't forget to join me for my 365 Cards Challenge on Wednesday.

Thanks for checking in with me today. I know you are all busy and have important things to do. I feel blessed knowing you still take time out to visit me. Thank you!

Ahoy Little Sailor

Happy Monday people!! Today's card was actually created for last weeks 365 Cards sketch and then I quickly found out (or maybe not quick enough) that I had used the wrong sketch!!
So I get to share it with you here:
It's based off of an old sketch from April. Let me know if you want to see the original. This was a fun one to do and since it was Art Glitter week, I did add glitter details to the card. You can click for a better look.

You know, last week was a long hard week for me. Patrick worked really late every night and I was just tired tired, but man was I loving my craft time!! Patrick is actually out of town this week so I have plenty of crafting hours to look forward to. I think I need to try some new techniques to keep my mind learning, what do you think? Can't wait to share more with you this week.

Hope all is well with you and your weekend treated you with the respect you deserve!

365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday!!

Here is today's sketch for 365 Cards Sketchy Sunday!!

Here is my card.
Have I said before how much I love this sentiment set by Ali Edwards? It's perfect in every way. It's put out by Technique Tuesday. Check it out. You will get a bit choked up and then want it for yourself!!
I stamped the background with some text stamps (PTI) and used some of my favorite colors. In hindsight, I realize the layout is a lot the same to yesterday's card. Guess that's what I get for doing them right after each other!

Anyway, hope you like! If you have never participated in a 365 Cards Challenge, today is the day to start! The sketches are so much fun and give you a good base to go off of. I think you will enjoy it, so take the plunge! I look forward to seeing what you create! And for those of you who participate every week, I'm excited to come see your blogs. I have been a bit hit and miss with all the happenings of this summer, but boy have I missed you! I am feeling the organization coming back to me as fall approaches. I guess it can't come soon enough.

365 Cards: Art Glitter Week!! (Toile Inspired)

Oooh! Today's challenge was SO fun! We have been challenged to use Toile as our background. Pam so generously provided a definition of Toile which you can find HERE . I did need a refresher. Well, I was fresh out of toile, but did remember this fabulous Amy Butler paper that I thought would fit the bill ok. Here's the card:

I fussy cut this peacock out of the full sheet. (*sniff* was my last full sheet!). I used PTI Ripe Avocado, Spring Rain and the dark blue on the paper I would say is close to Enchanted Evening or SU! Not Quite Navy. These colors are so striking together, so keep them in mind for your next card.  I also added some ART GLITTER to the peacock to doll it up a bit.
I then added the sentiment but made it a bit rustic. Kinda seems like they wouldn't go together, but I like the juxtaposition. It makes it different and fun to look at. I stitched the sentiment with some jute twine and added some sparkle to the button.

So thats it! Last day of ART GLITTER Week and I hope you have had a good time. I know I have! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Be sure to check back tomorrow for my Sketchy Sunday card. As usual Pam has provided a very fun sketch. It is sure to get your creativity flowing!

Have a good one today!

365 Cards: Art Glitter Week!! (Present Card)

Hey there! Only 2 precious days left of Art Glitter week. It has been really fun playing with this stuff every day. Thank you ART GLITTER for your generous sponsorship this week. What a delight it has been!

Today's challenge is to make the card the gift. Or make it look like one anyway. I made up a tri-fold card to look like a present. Aaaaaand here she is:

I stamped some flower images on Lemon Tart cardstock and added a little trim plus a big bow!
Using my ART GLITTER adhesive and glitter I dolled up the large flowers on the card. I also made up a gift tag complete with some Star Glitter Gel Pen action.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside, but it is your standard tri-fold. The top flap is 1.25 in. the body is two sections at 2.75 in. Length is 5.5. Its skinny, but will tuck into a package easy or fit a standard envie.

That is all for me today. Can't wait to share my creations for this weekend. I have had a lovely time creating this week. I feel the mojo is hanging out for a bit, so that makes things move quicker (and I don't pull out as much hair) which is always fun!

Thanks for joining me today. And thanks so much for all your sweet comments this week. I love ya!

365 Cards: Art Glitter Week!! (Card Recipe)

Today's 365 Cards Art Glitter Week challenge is to use this card recipe:
4x7 card
5 Blossoms
3 Patterned Papers
Glitter
wet embossed sentiment

Here is what I created:

I stamped the blossoms with polka dots and glue then sprinkled on my glitter. Used some SEI papers, some rhinestones. Just general fun.

This one was fun to watch come together. Its a good exercise to use a limited amount of supplies, because even then you have a lot of variety to choose from.

Today is Dr. appointment day for me. Yesterday was the kids. They both got shots, so it was pretty rough. Hope they are happier today.
See you tomorrow and have a good one people!

365 Cards: Art Glitter Week!! (Star Card)

Wa-hoo for Wednesday!! Today's 365 Cards challenge for Art Glitter week is to put a star on your card. Well, I just couldn't wait to get started. I decided to use two different glitter colors on it to add some interest. Here is how it turned out:

I really wanted to get a ochre look going from dark to light, but man that was tough. It ended up a bit more mottled than I had wanted. But you know, I still love it! I had originally stamped the card base with some blue ink and it was just SOOOO boring. So I added red instead! The sentiment and bird are from Hero Arts. In hindsight I should have add the sentiment to white so you could actually read it!! It says "Life is Brighter with you in it." which I think is so so sweet. I can think of so many people I could send this to.

I wanted my ribbon to curl, and it was really thin so I wrapped it around a paint brush and dabbed some glue on it. It helps quite a bit!

I can't wait to see what you create today, so get your stars out!

365 Cards: Art Glitter Week!! (Color Combo)

Welcome Tuesday, welcome. Today's 365 Card challenge for Art Glitter week is to use a color combo chosen by Pam. I really tried to stick to the challenge, but found I was fresh out of orange glitter, so I had to use green. Sorry Pam!!! Here is what I did:

I used some Cuttlebug dies that I have had for awhile. It's about time I got around to using them. All in all the glitter worked out great! Just wish I had some orange! I am officially covered with glitter from head to toe. My entire desk and floor is too. In fact I bet if I checked the bottoms of my feet, I might find some more. That means its going to get all over the house and probably in my bed by the end of this week. Guess there will be a lot more cleaning to do around the house this weekend ; ) All in all I am having great glitter fun! I look like a fairy princess! And I really love the adhesive the kit comes with. It is super strong and sticky. I didn't use it for this card (and regretted it!), but did for my card tomorrow. I wanted to test a few different kinds out. I definitely recommend the Art Glitter adhesive. They know what they are doing!

Ok. Thats enough babble. I never did make it to Costco yesterday for my churro, but you can bet I found something else fried and sugary to fill my tummy. And it was so worth it.

Have a good one today, and thanks so much for stopping by and all your sweet comments!

365 Cards: Art Glitter Week!! (Masking)

Happy Monday!! Today's Art Glitter challenge at 365 Cards is to try some masking using glitter. Good thing I picked up some masks at CHA... whew! I pulled out the Art Glitter kit!
I started with lavendar cardstock and ran it through my Zyron sticker machine. After peeling up one side I laid down my mask and covered with purple glitter. Then I peeled up the mask and covered the rest with some diamond/silvery glitter. This card is really simple to make. You mat the glitter cardstock and add it to your card base! Easy as pie. Of course you will be covered with glitter, but that's kind of the fun part : )

So for this spectacular Monday, we don't have any plans as of yet. How is that even possible?? Maybe a nice clean out of the garage, or some yard work. Maybe a trip to Costco for a churro? Honestly the possibilities are endless!! And what are you up to this fine day? Whatever it is you are doing, I hope you have a lovely day!

365 Sketchy Sunday: Art Glitter Week!!!

Hey all! Today is the day we kick off Art Glitter week at 365 Cards!! Its a great time to be joining in the fun because this glitter will knock your socks off!! I started out small today because we do have all week and I have lots to glitter up! I added some glitter to my flowers for todays sketch:

A very simple card. I added some stitching with embroidery floss for the stem and made my sentiment a little flag.
Here's a little close-up for ya. This glitter is super fine so it covers great and goes a long way. There are many colors to choose from and all are so fabulous. My kids were making fun of me because I had glitter all over my face yesterday. I love it. It sparkles and makes me happy!!
So have a great Sunday everyone! Hope to see some fun sketchy sunday cards from you today!

I'm Here For You

Another simple single layer card for you this weekend. Nothing fancy, just playing around with simplicity.

I love this sentiment. Simple and to the point. And I think people need to hear it often. What a blessing we can be in each others lives. I hope your day is going well and that you feel loved.

Thank you for stopping by. Each day I am reminded that without each other, life is pretty darned empty, so thank you for the part you play in my life!!

CHA Photos!!!

Ok, so I am totally lame because I didn't take any picture of product or full booths, I only took pictures of my Stamping Idols and even then, I missed a few. But here are some of the lovely ladies I got to meet while I was there, and let me tell you, they are just as wonderful as they look and then some!!

I spent a lot of my time at the Papertrey Ink booth. They had fabulous make-n-takes and of course the company just couldn't be beat. It's the only reason why I went to the show in the first place (that and to get some R&R from the kidlins). I got to meet and talk to the uber-talented and ever brilliant mind behind Papertrey Ink. Nicole Heady:
Isn't she lovely? She is young and smart and so so kind. Thank you Nicole for chatting with me and for the wonderful product you produce each month! I remember getting into stamping a bit a few years ago and thinking I might try it out for awhile, but when I found PTI, the passion and desire to stamp 24/7 shot through me like a knife. The quality and design of these products are top notch and they never disappoint. It's fresh, modern, cute, and fun all rolled into one. There is a bit of everything to meet your style but its always clean and professional so you look like a stamping rock star when you send out a card. Now that is something I can get behind!! Stamping has been a pure joy and blessing in my life ever since and in so many ways, so I do really owe a lot to this lady. Thank you Thank you!~

And who could forget the other PTI ladies that were there? Color guru and celebrity stamper Dawn McVey:
Holy cow is she sweet!!! I was so excited to meet her. I am amazed that all that talent comes out of one brain. Truly Amazing!  She is everywhere in the crafting world and SO SO talented that I am sure you have seen her blog and spied her face in the stamping mags (and if not, here's HER LINK). Thanks Dawn for the chat, it was such a joy!

Next up is the brilliant Heather Nicholes. It's been said she is a wiz with Kraft paper and white ink. And yes, she certainly is that. But she also has this amazing earthy but sweet design ability and she too is so nice and normal and really down to earth. (and honestly can I stop gushing??) She was willing to take a moment from working the make-and-take table to take a pic and chat a bit. Thanks Pine!! I look forward to your new set release this month!
The last picture I have, but definitely not least is Debbie Olson:

I actually had a pic of us together, but we had our eyes closed, so I thought we would save that picture for the trash can! But as you can see we got to chat. I think hers was the first blog I came across that dropped my jaw to the floor. From then I found all the other amazing PTI DT and the rest is stamping history. You can see from this picture that I have stars in my eyes, which is totally embarrassing, but I was so glad to get to talk with her. She is absolutely lovely and puts in a lot of time to her blog and family. I know she doesn't sleep much, but boy do I love seeing her creations! It was wonderful to get to know her a bit.

Ok. Onto the other amazing designer that I got to meet there, but for some reason didn't get a picture! (what is wrong with me??) She was so busy working the table, that I think I didn't want to interrupt her. But it was none other than Michelle Wooderson. She is queen of this hip vintage vibe that is so great and you know she too is kind and did I say amazing?! Really I think PTI got all the good ones tied up on their Design Team. Way to go!

And can you believe I got to chat briefly with my fellow 365 Card DT member Vicky Cook!?!?! It was SO great to meet her and can you believe I totally spaced taking a picture!? Man was I ticked when I realized that. I looked for her for the rest of the time and never did connect with her again. The funny thing is she doesn't live more than a half hour or so from me. You would think I would just drive to her house to get a picture, but I am pretty sure she would think I was psycho, which I never want to give away too quickly ; ) She was sweet and delightful and has such a pretty and contagious smile. It was fun to meet her face to face. Thanks for saying hi Vicky!!

I had a wonderful time at CHA. Got a lot of good stuff, met a lot of fabulous people and above all got to go with my own mother! It was so so delightful to get away and share together something we both love so much. Thank you mom for being my traveling companion, stamping enthusiast and greatest cheerleader. I love you!!

Ok.. now for the serious news. If you have actually made it this far in my post, you are a complete rock star. Seriously. I just wanted to tell you a little secret I have been keeping for a while. As much as I wish it was me joining another design team or making it into a magazine, alas it is not. But what you can expect from me in 6 months time is giving birth to baby #3. Yes it is crazy and actually not the best timing (thats a different story altogether!) but it is a blessing and we are excited to welcome our new little one into the nest. I am finally out of the first trimester. Not feeling sick or tired as much even though I do have some wicked heart burn. Things are going well but bear with me if I seem spacey and forgetful, that seems to happen a lot to me when I'm in this altered state. I will still be here making cards, even if the majority are baby ones ; )

Alrighty that is all the news for now. You would think for all that talking, there would be more pictures. HA! Keep stopping by. I will have my card for 365 Cards Sketchy Sunday (uh, on sunday) and next week is Art Glitter week, so definitely stay tuned for that and have a great night!!!

Distressed Postcard

I picked up a package of postcards from Michael's awhile back. I was really excited to use them and then let them sit, for months. I'm not proud of how I am, but I'm not scared of sharing the truth, and this IS what happened ; ) It all finally came together for me when I added to my distress ink collection at CHA. Here is what I did:

I started with some Tim Holtz masks. They are clear plastic and sticky on one side. I laid those down first and then blended 4 different Tim Holtz distress inks over top. After peeling up the masks, I stamped over the entire card with Background Basics: Text Boxed in Dark Chocolate (not fully inked) and then some Polka Dot Basics II by Papertrey Ink with more distress ink. I only did polka dots on the left side. I added some nifty vintage stamps I got from my sister-in-law, (I have no idea the company), and then added my sentiments by Ali Edwards. I honestly love THIS set!  I threw on some glitter while the polka dots were still drying to add a little somethin' somethin'. I'm pretty sure you can't see that part ; )

Ok, so the back is printed just like a postcard. A small square for postage and a line down the middle to separate the message from the address. I love the idea of sending postcards, just randomly to anyone. You never know, you may get one of these in the mail, so keep your eyes peeled. I also love that it didn't take me an entire night to make it up. It came together really fast! So what do you think??

Thanks for stopping by today. You make me smile!!

In Bloom

One of the new Papertrey Ink sets I got from CHA. I wanted a simple one layer card that could be easily reproduced. I thought I had succeeded and then I added some coloring with pencil and a gel pen:
It's hard to see, but I used a Gelly Roll Glitter Star pen to color in the petals. They are SO fun to use. I think I will go through it pretty fast because it rocks. You can click to enlarge the photo to hopefully see the glitter better.

I still have a lot of things I want to play with and show you, but if today is any indication, it sure is gonna be hard to get all these fun things done! So far the laundry is more than I can manage. The floor hasn't seen a vacuum in ages, and I am potty training as well. boy oh boy am I a glutton for punishment. Luckily the boys have been sweet and mellow all day so at least I am not doing time out as well.

Ok. I promise to get my CHA pictures up today or tomorrow and get my craft on tonight so I have a card to show you tomorrow. Plus don't forget Art Glitter week next week over at 365 Cards.

365 Cards: What's Your Sign?

Happy Wednesday my friends! I am finally home from my trip. My mother leaves today and we have been trying to craft up a storm, but you know there is just SO much chatting to do! Here is my card for todays 365 Card Challenge:

The challenge is to make a sign for your card (or make it your card!). I know, I know... it's no longer really summer. We are maybe closer to saying goodbye than hello but I really wanted to make this sign. I used some of my new goodies I got at CHA. Nothing that is new on the market, but it is new in my stash so it was fun!
This sign is made of grunge paper by Tim Holtz. It is kinda leathery and not like paper at all. I stamped on it and then used distress inks to give it some color. I also used some sponging for the grass too. I have these flowers that I stamped onto some white paper YEARS ago. Its a SU! set, that was never mine and I don't even know which friend it belonged to. We used to get together and we would stamp each others sets so we had them in our stash. Well it feels good to finally use them!

Ok. That is it for today. I have lots of fun sets to show you this week, and be sure to stay with us for next weeks sponsor Art Glitter. I can't wait to have my house in a flurry of glitter!!
Thanks for stopping in!

Button Bits: Trees

Hi there! It's tuesday and my laundry is a big messy pile. I barely have food in the fridge BUT I did have time to craft! This is a set I picked up at the Papertrey Ink booth at CHA. It's called Button Bits. It's so fun to use because you replace the circles of the images with buttons. Which actually is a lot harder than it seems. I searched for these buttons for a long time, and still feel they are not quite right.

In fact I am just plumb out of practice with this craftin' stuff! I need to get back into the swing of it all. I hope to try a lot of new things this week. I had a wonderful time at CHA and will share some photos soon.

How are things with you this week??? I have been missing my online friends and am glad to be back home where I can check my computer often. Hope all is well with you this week!

365 Cards: Sketchy Sunday Aug 2

It's Sunday again! This was set to post since I should be on a plane right now coming home from Florida. Sketchy Sunday 365 Cards Style! I really enjoyed playing with Pam's sketch. I hope you do to! Here it is:
Here is my take:
Once again I flipped the image. I pulled out some cork and stamped on it. Then ran it through my CuttleBug with a die cut circle. I added some scored lines around the cream edges and my fav. buttons!! Pretty straight forward. I hope you like it! I will be back in full swing (hopefully) this week. My mother and niece will be staying for a few days, but I hope to be crafting with some of my new CHA goodies. So stay tuned for that!

Have a wonderful day!
